The Bloomerang® Dark Purple Lilac is a compact, reblooming lilac that delivers fragrant, deep purple flowers not just once—but twice a season. Its lush, conical blooms appear heavily in spring, take a brief rest, and then re-bloom from midsummer into fall, offering extended color and fragrance long after traditional lilacs are finished.
This rounded, dense shrub typically grows 4–6 feet tall and wide, making it perfect for foundation plantings, borders, or small garden spaces. The rich green foliage provides a lovely backdrop for the vivid purple blooms, and its compact, tidy habit keeps it looking polished all season long.
Hardy in zones 3–7, Bloomerang® Dark Purple thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. It’s cold-hardy, disease-resistant, and a magnet for butterflies and pollinators. A low-maintenance favorite that offers the classic lilac scent and beauty — with the bonus of repeat blooms through the season.
Why Bare Root
The benefits of buying and planting bare root trees are extensive. Bare root trees are more cost effective and will typically reach their mature size quicker. They are easier to manage and plant due to not being established within a medium in a container. Bare root shrubs and trees will grow faster since they have 200% more root mass than that of trees purchased in a container or B&B. The plants are also not having to go through the adjustment period of acclimating to different soil conditions since they are not coming in a medium. For more information, please see CSU Extension Service’s “The Science of Planting Trees.”
Pickup for all Bare Root Plants will take place at The Shire at Old Ranch (3860 Old Ranch Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80908) on March 28th and 29th from 9:00am-5:00pm.
