The Calypso rose from the Easy Elegance® collection is a cheerful, compact shrub rose celebrated for its abundant blooms and tropical color blend. Its apricot-orange buds open into lush, semi-double flowers that fade softly to coral pink and peach, creating a warm, sunset-like effect that lasts all summer long.
This rounded, floriferous shrub grows to about 2 feet tall and wide, making it ideal for borders, mass plantings, or container gardens. The dark green, glossy foliage provides a striking contrast to the bright blooms and maintains excellent disease resistance throughout the season.
Hardy in zones 5–9, Calypso performs best in full sun with well-drained soil. It’s cold-hardy, self-cleaning, and blooms continuously from late spring through fall with little maintenance. A vibrant, carefree addition to any garden, Calypso brings a touch of tropical color and reliable performance to northern landscapes.
Why Bare Root
The benefits of buying and planting bare root trees are extensive. Bare root trees are more cost effective and will typically reach their mature size quicker. They are easier to manage and plant due to not being established within a medium in a container. Bare root shrubs and trees will grow faster since they have 200% more root mass than that of trees purchased in a container or B&B. The plants are also not having to go through the adjustment period of acclimating to different soil conditions since they are not coming in a medium. For more information, please see CSU Extension Service’s “The Science of Planting Trees.”
Pickup for all Bare Root Plants will take place at The Shire at Old Ranch (3860 Old Ranch Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80908) on March 28th and 29th from 9:00am-5:00pm.
