Bring home the flavor of summer with Fort Laramie Strawberries, one of the hardiest and sweetest everbearing varieties available! These cold-tolerant plants thrive in cooler climates (zones 3–7) and produce large, juicy red berries bursting with rich, honeyed flavor. Enjoy a generous crop in early summer and another in late summer to fall, perfect for fresh eating, jams, desserts, or freezing.
Fort Laramie is prized for its vigorous growth, heavy yields, and adaptability — performing beautifully in garden beds, raised beds, or containers. The berries are firm and flavorful, and the white spring blossoms add a charming touch to any edible garden.
Plant them once and enjoy years of sweet, hardy, homegrown strawberries — the perfect blend of beauty, flavor, and resilience for northern gardens.
Why Bare Root
The benefits of buying and planting bare root trees are extensive. Bare root trees are more cost effective and will typically reach their mature size quicker. They are easier to manage and plant due to not being established within a medium in a container. Bare root shrubs and trees will grow faster since they have 200% more root mass than that of trees purchased in a container or B&B. The plants are also not having to go through the adjustment period of acclimating to different soil conditions since they are not coming in a medium. For more information, please see CSU Extension Service’s “The Science of Planting Trees.”
Pickup for all Bare Root Plants will take place at The Shire at Old Ranch (3860 Old Ranch Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80908) March 28th and 29th from 9:00am-5:00pm.
